About University of Notre Dame
Founded in 1842 by the Congregation of Holy Cross, Notre Dame is an internationally recognized Catholic university, providing a distinctive voice in higher education that is at once rigorously intellectual, unapologetically moral in orientation, and firmly embracing of a service ethos. The 8,700 undergraduates receive an interdisciplinary education and research experience through four colleges — Arts and Letters, Science, Engineering, and the Mendoza College of Business — and the School of Architecture.
